Tōru Tsuzuki

Tōru Tsuzuki ( Japanese 続 木 徹 , Tsuzuki Tōru ; * around 1955) is a Japanese jazz and fusion musician ( piano , also keyboards ).

Life

Toru Tsuzuki, who was active in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s, played a. a. with Hiroshi Hatsuyama (ス マ イ ル = Smile , Aketa's Disk, 1977), Tamami Koyake ( Windows - Tamami Meets Coryell , 1983), Masahiko Ozu ( Dolphin Dance , 1983), June Yamagishi ( My Pleasure ) and Masaki Matsubara . In 1983 he recorded his debut album Neptune , on which Hidefumi Toki , Makoto Saitō , Hideo Sekine and the percussionists Yoichi Hatayama , Kazuhiro Mishima , and Porchinho participated. With Darek Lane Jackson, Hidefumi Toki, June Yamagishi and Marvin Baker , he formed the fusion band ChickenShack in the late 1980s . In Los Angeles he worked in the early 1990s as a keyboardist with the Band of Pleasure (with David T. Walker, June Yamagishi, Ko Shimizu , James Gadson , Paulinho Da Costa ). Tom Lord lists him in jazz between 1977 and 1995 with seven recording sessions.
