T99 ( also T.99 , T-99 ) is a Belgian music project by producers Patrick DeMeyer , Oliver Abbeloos and Phil Wilde . It was best known in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the titles Anasthasia and Nocturne . T99 combined the styles of breakbeat , new beat , techno , house , rave and downtempo under the genre of electronic music .

T99 was founded in the late 1980s as Turbo 99 by Patrick DeMeyer alone when he released three solo pieces. When DeMeyer heard of Olivier Abbeloos, who was working on a track called Anasthasia , he offered to produce the piece with him. They released it in 1991, from then on they both worked together as T99 on the album Children Of Chaos , which was released in 1992. For individual pieces, they worked together with other producers and musicians.

Members

Oliver Abbeloos (born January 18, 1969 in Aalst ) is the producer of the most successful T99 title and has been involved in many other music groups and projects (including L&O ). Patrick DeMeyer is among other things the producer of Technotronic , Phil Wilde is also involved in the well-known music project 2 Unlimited . The producer Serge Ramaekers (later also by Freddie Mercury ) is also mentioned as the producer of the T99 title Too Nice to Be Real (1989). Perla Den Boer is mentioned as a participant in the song Nocturne . The voice on the tracks of T99's Children of Chaos comes from Zénon Zevenbergen .

successes

Nocturne climbed to number 5 in the Billboard Dance Charts in the USA in 1992. The producers with their two best-known titles were particularly successful in the Netherlands and Belgium, where Anasthasia landed in the top 10.
