TBS buffer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TBS buffer ( English Tris-buffered saline , TBS) is in biochemistry for solution of proteins used buffer .

properties

TBS buffer is used to investigate the binding and storage of proteins as well as for immunodetection , including in Western Blot , in ELISA , in ELISPOT , in immunofluorescence and in immunohistochemistry . TBS buffer mostly consists of 10 - 50 mM TRIS as a buffer substance and 150 mM sodium chloride for a physiological ionic strength . The pH is, depending on the protocol with dilute hydrochloric acid adjusted to 7.2 to 7.6. The pH value decreases by 0.03 per degree Celsius. Good buffers, among others, are used as an alternative to the TBS buffer . TBS buffer with Tween 20 is called TBS-T buffer .
