The Tel Aviv- based company Technical Consulting international (TCI) developed a rifle called the M89 in the mid-1980s. The rifle was intended as a replacement for the one used by Dr. Nehemiah Sirkis developed the M36 , another bullpup rifle.

The M89 is actually an M-14 in Bullpup design , the rifle is available in two versions, the M89-AR (Assault-Rifle) and the M89-SR (Sniperrifle), which has a bipod and a telescopic sight, optionally with one Mufflers can be equipped. It is used by the Israel Defense Forces and is also offered for export.
