history
The TC an der Sieg emerged as the successor to the TC Grün-Weiß Siegburg, which was the most successful tennis club in the district town around the turn of the millennium. In 2001 and 2002 the men's team from Grün-Weiß Siegburg played in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 2002 the promotion to the 1st Bundesliga almost succeeded.
After the promotion was denied by a DTB committee , the main sponsors declined further involvement in the 2nd Bundesliga and withdrew from the club. In addition to great talents, some world-famous tennis players also played for Grün-Weiß Siegburg, for example Ivan Ljubičić (in 2000, number 79 in the world rankings at the time) and the doubles specialist Johan Landsberg from Sweden.
Other well-known players were Ladislav Švarc , Thierry Ascione , Kim Tiilikainen and Jean-René Lisnard .
