TK-202 was a strategic nuclear submarine of the Soviet Naval War Fleet and the second ship of Project 941 (NATO code: Typhoon class).

construction

On March 2, 1977, TK-202 was added to the inventory of the naval war fleet of the Soviet Union and laid down on April 22, 1978 in the Sevmasch shipyard in Severodvinsk . The assignment to the class of heavy strategic U-cruisers took place on July 25, 1977. With the rolling out of the building hall into a covered dry dock, the launch was carried out on September 23, 1982. This was followed by static tests in the dry dock and sea trials in the White Sea .

Service in the naval navy of the Soviet Union

The naval war fleet took over the new ship on December 28, 1983 and on January 18, 1984 TK-202 was incorporated into the newly established 18th Division of the 1st Flotilla of the Northern Fleet in Nerpichya Bay near Sapadnaja Litsa. Regular deterrence patrols followed in the Barents Sea and the North Sea . On September 20, 1989, the scheduled repairs began in the Svyosdotschka shipyard , as part of which weapon systems and sensors were modernized.

Service in the naval navy of the Russian Federation

The collapse of the Soviet Union delayed the repairs, but the work was completed on schedule. On October 1, 1994, the naval navy took over the ship in practically new condition and reassigned it to its unit in Nerpichya Bay near Sapadnaya Litsa. A patrol trip followed. Due to disarmament efforts and rapid financial cuts, TK-202 was separated from the combat fleet of the naval fleet and decommissioned on March 28, 1995. On February 2, 1999, TK-202 arrived in Severodvinsk, where the fuel elements were being removed from the reactors. Scrapping began in 2003.
