description
The Canon 155 TRF1 was designed to equip the French field artillery battalions with modern artillery systems. The vehicle is also equipped with a motor that makes it possible to move the cannon to a small extent. It can reach a maximum speed of 8 km / h. The motor is also used to open the handlebars, to raise the wheels in the firing position and to load and aim the weapon. Usually the Canon 155 TRF1 is pulled by a TRM 10000 . In the Second Gulf War , 16 guns were used in the French Daguet division. Today five regiments are still in service with the French armed forces.
The construction is a modern design. A spreader carriage with two spars was used for stability when firing. The attachment and loading system operated by the auxiliary motor allows a relatively fast supply of ammunition in every tube elevation without having to bring the tube back into the 0 ° position. A crew of seven is sufficient for normal operations. In the event of a battle, three soldiers are enough to keep the gun ready to fire. In the firing position, the wheels are raised and the carriage rests on a round steel plate, which gives additional stability when firing.
