TRICAD MS is a CAD / CAE planning tool with 3D industry solutions for technical building equipment , digital factory planning, plant construction and the calculation of envelope curves in traffic planning . The software tool is based on the MicroStation CAD core system from Bentley Systems.

history

The development of TRICAD MS began in 1967 when the engineer Reinhard Meier started his own business with Triplan GmbH. In the 1960s, Meier was one of the pioneers who used the full-scale industrial model as a planning aid.

In 1979 Meier decided to invest in a CAD system as a further planning aid. With TRICAD, a whole product family was soon available, from piping and system planning to a solution for all building technology trades.

In 1995 the strategic decision was made to port TRICAD to the MicroStation platform. From 1998 TRICAD MS was then also commercially available.

Range of functions

TRICAD MS is the only CAD / offers CAE planning tool for all trades of the building - and factory planning specific modules (heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler, conveyor technology, plant construction, steel, lacquer technique, swept paths, layout etc.). The planner works with a uniform user interface in all modules.

An essential feature of TRICAD MS is the possibility of integrated, cross-trade planning. The integration of calculation algorithms is also possible (sewer networks, pipe networks, sewage and radiators; VDS / FM sprinkler calculation via IDAT).

The 'intelligence' of the software is in ASCII files (DGN files with all technical information); a complex database is not required. The generated 3D model depicts the entire building, the entire factory - all components are available in a parameterizable geometry and can be configured as required. All technical information can be called up via an info button without having to use TRICAD MS yourself.

TRICAD MS has been the industry standard for planning technical trades in the automotive sector for years. On behalf of the VDA ( Association of the Automotive Industry ), the provider VenturisIT has developed a series of modules for planning technical building equipment, including vehicle production halls.

credentials

Well-known manufacturers such as Daimler AG , Volkswagen AG , Audi AG , BMW AG , Skoda Auto Deutschland GmbH and SEAT Deutschland GmbH explicitly stipulate the use of this software for internal and external planners for factory planning.

For this purpose, a company-specific environment can be created in TRICAD MS (for example available at Audi, BMW, Daimler, Fraport, VW, Bayer etc.). All specifications for line types, line widths and layers are defined therein. The media types such as supply air, exhaust air etc. are also defined, as are the pipe materials and components. Using a special qualification tool, compliance with the planning specifications can be checked and, if necessary, ensured.
