The TSC-Stadion an der Flora is a football stadium in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Dortmund .
Location and facilities
The stadium is located in Dortmund's city center-west between Ardeystraßen and Ruhrallee . It belongs to the TSC sports center . The playing area is surrounded by an ash track. The stadium has a capacity of around 3000 seats. There are small seating areas in both the main and opposite stands. To the west of the stadium there is a side square with artificial turf and two other side places.
history
In 1953, the then Dortmund SC 95 received the 40,000 square meter site from the city of Dortmund. This area was initially leased by the association and later became the property of the association. The stadium was completed within a year. The audience capacity was originally 8,000. Dortmund's SC 95 secured the Westphalia Championship in 1956 and was promoted to the second-class II Division West at the time. In 1963 the club missed the qualification for the newly created Regionalliga West and slipped into the amateur area. In 1969 the DSC merged with TuS Eintracht Dortmund to form TSC Eintracht Dortmund . At the same time, the DSC Stadium on the Flora became the TSC Stadium on the Flora . In terms of sport, the TSC Eintracht footballers couldn't get beyond the state league .
