The TSC Black Gold is an Austrian Tanzsportclub from Vienna. The club was founded in October 2008 and is headquartered in Vienna's 5th district in the Spengergasse 27. The main focus of the association's work is in the field of formation dance sport Latin and Standard , but also in individual dancing Latin and standard of TSC Black Gold was in the have seen some very successful couples in recent years. The club currently has 4 Latin formation teams, 2 standard formation teams and over 20 active individual pairs in both disciplines. As further training options, the association offers regular training camps, training days and fitness workshops. Every year, several introductory training courses are offered to specifically look for new dancers.

Formation Latin

In the Latin formations, 6–8 couples dance the dances Samba , Cha-Cha-Cha , Rumba , Paso Doble and Jive together .

A-team

The Latin A team of TSC Schwarz Gold was created by the Elmayer dance school and started with the choreography "No Limits". After founding the club and changing the choreography to "Move", the club's A team quickly danced its way up from the 2nd Austrian Bundesliga to the 1st Bundesliga and there to become national champion in Latin. With the successful choreography "Siamo Noi" one could also reach the first international final places. 2011 a 5th place at the European Championship, 2012 a 6th place at the World Championship.

With "Don't Stop Believing" the Latin A-Team presented the club's first choreography in 2012. Due to the lack of success, however, the decision was made to lease the subsequent choreography again and switched to the frequently danced "Fortis Nova" choreography, which the club's own B-team also dances in the same year.

With "Invictus" it was decided again to create their own choreography in order to be able to move even further forward in the starting field. With this choreo, the team also won their first state championship in 2016.

With the specially created choreography "Spirit of Life" one could claim the title of state champion for another year. The team was also able to achieve its best international result so far in Schwechat in 2017 with 5th place.

In spring 2019 the Latin A-Team will dance the choreography "Choices". Due to the lack of success, the decision was made to start again with "Spirit of Life" in autumn.

B team

In the same season in which the club was founded, the Latin B team of TSC Schwarz Gold also started in the second Bundesliga with the former A-team choreography "No Limits". After the rise of the Latin A team, the Latin B team with the choreography "Tina Turner" was unbeaten in its league. At the 2010 state championship, the team emerged victorious in the second Bundesliga and also moved up to the elite league.

At the state championship in 2012, the Latin B team with "Explosive" could even dance third place and defend it for two more years. In the 2013-2014 season, the team danced the same choreography as the Latin A team of the same league. After only one season, the club decided to create its own choreography for the Latin B team for the unusual step instead of continuing to use the former A team choreography or leasing an existing one. The team danced "Madagascar" for two years, but the previous level could not be maintained and in 2016 the team was relegated to the second Bundesliga. With "Joe Cocker" one managed again in the following season promotion in the first division. In 2017 it was decided to swap choreography with the Latin C-Team "Glee". The choreography to the music of "Don't Stop Believing" has been further modified and called "Here's to us". The Latin B team has been dancing the club's own choreography "Invictus" in the first division since 2018.

C team

The Latin C-Team is the third and Latin team of the TSC Black Gold. In 2011 the team made its debut with the former A-Team choreography "Move" and has been an integral part of the 2nd Bundesliga ever since. 2011-2013 was leased for the team "Crazy Fire". In 2013 the choreography "Don't Stop Believing" was taken over from the Latin A-Team and named "Glee". Since the choreography turned out to be very good for building up the dancers, the choreography was kept for four years. In 2017 the choreography "Joe Cocker" was taken over from the Latin B team.

The team is currently thrilling the hearts of the audience with the club's own choreography "Madagascar". The young and lively team starts the tournament season with great motivation after a new formation. Her most recent success was the 2nd place in the 2018 national championship and 2nd place in the 2nd Bundesliga of the Latin formations as well as the victory in the 2nd Bundesliga 2019.

D team

The D-Team forms the link between dance school and dance sport. The main focus is on teaching technique and seamlessly follows on from the knowledge learned in the dance school. The team offers an easy entry into dance sport and at the same time optimal preparation for a tournament team or for individual dancing.

Formation standard

In the standard formations, 6–8 couples dance the slow waltz , tango , Viennese waltz , slowfox and quickstepp dances together .

A-team

The Standard A-Team of TSC Schwarz Gold, often called the " S-Team ", has been training since 2015. At the beginning of the year there was an effort to build a standard formation. A few couples had quickly found each other who presented a first part of the later choreography "Corpse Bride" on the 95th Elmayerkräzchen. In the summer it was decided to make a tournament team out of it and began to learn the later successful choreography "Make that Change". The choreography to the music of Michael Jackson was presented at the 96th Elmayer crown. At their first championship in 2016, the team won the Austrian championship in their discipline. At the Standard Formation World Championship in the following autumn, they immediately made it to the semifinals and reached 10th place.

With the specially created choreography "Beauty and the Beast", another championship title was achieved in 2018. Even if the World Cup placements did not show any further success, the team was able to improve its points evaluation there year after year. The Standard A-Team has been training the "Stories" choreography since summer 2019, which they presented after only two months of training at the World Championships in Moscow.

B team

The still young team tries to walk the fine line between the development team and the performance team. As an entry and development team, the team is a preparation for the standard A team. In order to offer the dancers optimal preparation, like the Standard A-Team, they also start in the increasingly stronger Bundesliga Standard.

The Standard B-Team danced for the first time at Elmayerkräzchen in 2019 with the choreography “Corpse Bride” in front of an audience and has already performed well in the Bundesliga.

Individual dance sport

In the area of individual dance sport Latin, the couples of the TSC Schwarz Gold were able to achieve a large number of top placements at home and abroad and in 2012 the TSC Schwarz Gold was able to position itself in 1st place in the annual ranking of the Austrian dance sport clubs.

The club has been an integral part of the Austrian championships since 2010. At the beginning there were only Latin couples in the club, but in recent years the standard section has drawn level. Many individual dancers started with formation and later added individual dance. Therefore, most of the couples can also be found in the lower classes (popular sport, D and C class).

In the D-class only 4 dances are danced (no Slowfox in Standard, no Paso Doble in Latin), in the popular sports class only three of the four possible dances. Strict step restrictions and clothing regulations apply throughout the subclass (most striking: no tailcoat, no abrasive fabric). For the subclasses, the Austrian championship is held for each discipline.

The upper classes (B, A and S class) have relaxed regulations (tailcoats allowed, brushed fabric allowed). Open choreographies can be danced here. The B class still takes part in the Austrian championship, the championships of the A and S classes are held as part of the state championship.

Most of the couples in the club will soon be in the upper class, but the higher the level, the fewer couples there are.

The club is also represented annually in the combination discipline (where all 8 or 10 dances are danced). Combination is therefore often referred to as the supreme discipline . Naturally, there are fewer couples here as both standard and Latin have to be mastered. In the lower class, 8 dances are danced, as soon as the upper class is reached in a category, 10 dances must be started. If you reach the special class in a class, it has to be danced here as well.

Again and again, couples in the club try their hand at the supreme discipline. The club is now represented every year.
