TTC Hagen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TTC Hagen is a German table tennis club from the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Hagen , which is represented by a men's team in the table tennis upper league (5th division).

history

The TTC made the leap into the first Bundesliga together with Post SV Mühlhausen in 2013, which meant that the top division had its nominal strength of 10 teams again. With 6 wins out of 18 matches, the club reached eighth place and thus secured the league.

However, the next season started very unfortunate: The world number 49, who was obliged for Hagen. Chiang Hung-Chieh missed the first six games of the season due to problems with the visa and could not meet the high expectations afterwards. After he couldn't win a single of his eleven games by the beginning of February, the club parted ways with him and player -coach Andreas Fejer-Konnert once again filled the gap. At the end of the season, Hagen reached ninth place and thus only a relegation rank, but could remain in the league, as the TTC Frickenhausen withdrew for financial reasons and only one club moved up with the ASV Grünwettersbach . In 2015, however, the team had to be completely reorganized as the previous players had left the team after the 2014/15 season. Financial bottlenecks also made it necessary to look for the cheapest possible players. In the 2015/16 season , however, it was possible to at least reach 9th place again, which would have been enough for relegation due to the lack of anyone interested in promotion. For financial reasons - the club did not manage to reach the planned budget of 60,000 euros for the next season - they withdrew from the 1st Bundesliga to the top division.
