The TV Deilinghofen is a sports club from Hemer , North Rhine-Westphalia , the most with his athletics celebrates Department successes. With around 800 members, it is one of the largest associations in the city.

history

The association was founded on September 10, 1885 in an inn in Deilinghofen . In the first few years, the members trained on self-made gymnastics equipment in private rooms. With the victory of Karl Bartmann at the district gymnastics festival, the gymnastics club celebrated its first sporting success in 1892. In 1908 Karl Spieckermann was elected to the office of chairman, which he held for 24 years. During his term of office the construction of a club's own sports hall, which was inaugurated in 1932, fell. In the same year, TV Deilinghofen also opened an outdoor pool. The association provided the facility in the Langenbruch district of the Deilinghofen elementary school for swimming lessons. In the following years new departments, including a handball team, were founded.

The sports hall, which was destroyed in the Second World War, was used as a warehouse for a short time after the end of the war, before sports operations were resumed in 1946. In 1948, an athletics department was founded under the roof of TV Deilinghofen, which is still celebrating national successes to this day. In 1953/54 and again in 1964/65 the gym was enlarged. In 1974, the club also built a sports field on the outskirts, which is now named after Ernst Loewen, the then mayor of Deilinghofer.

Following the Hemer State Garden Show 2010 , the former armed forces sports field on the site of the Blücher barracks will be used by the association. The real turf pitch with the adjoining clubhouse was designed as a pure athletics stadium. The Ernst Loewen sports field, which the TVD previously shared with two football clubs, is being converted exclusively into a football field.

Departments

The club has the greatest successes with its athletics department, whose members have repeatedly won German, West German and Westphalian championship titles. One season of the TVD 2009 was the Westphalia champion in heptathlon , another West German indoor champion over four by 200 meters. In addition, the Westfalenmeister association provides youth and senior citizens with various age groups. Annett Jokiel even became German senior champion over 200 meters in 2007. At the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin , Christoph Schulte represented the TVD as a judge in the long jump. The athletics teams of the Hemeraner Friedrich-Leopold-Woeste-Gymnasium , which regularly reached the national finals of the sports competition Youth trained for the Olympics in Berlin, consist mostly of TVD members. Club coaches support the work of the physical education teachers there.
