The TV Scoreboard (also called RadioShack TV Scoreboard ) is a Pong- like stationary game console of the first console generation , which was manufactured by Tandy from 1976 to the early 1980s. The distribution was handled exclusively by RadioShack . The consoles were made in Hong Kong . The TV scoreboard consisted of a game controller with rotary controls or paddles . Attached was a second handpiece with its own paddle that could be detached and was connected with a cable. The system featured several pong-era games. One variant also included a revolver- like light gun that was used for a clay pigeon shooting game. The use of additional cosmetic accessories on the lightgun allowed the user to change the appearance of the revolver to that of a rifle . Thanks to the AY-3-8500 -Pong video game circuit, the games tennis , squash , hockey and training , among others, could be played. Games and game modes, including difficulty level and serving settings, can be customized with switches. It was operated with either a power supply unit or six 1.5 V AA batteries .
