T Scorpii (also Nova Scorpii 1860 ) was a nova in the globular cluster Messier 80 in the constellation Scorpio , which was discovered on May 21, 1860 by Arthur von Auwers through the Königsberg observatory and by Norman Pogson on May 28, 1860 independently through the Hartwell observatory . When it was discovered, the Nova had a brightness of 7.5 m . With its maximum luminosity of 6.8 m , it outshone the entire globular cluster.
