genealogy

  • Akitsura ( 鑑 連 , 1516–1585)
  • Muneshige ( 宗 茂 , 1567–1642) was the son of Takahashi Shigetane and was adopted by Akitsura as heir. In 1586 he defeated the Shimazu and received from Toyotomi Hideyoshi the fiefdom of Yanagawa in the province of Chikugo with an income of 120,000 koku . He took part in the Korean campaign and defeated the Chinese army together with Kobayakawa Takakage. Then he helped Katō Kiyomasa , who was trapped in Ulsan , to free himself. In 1600 he stood on the opposite side of Tokugawa Ieyasu and was deposed. But he regained Ieyasu's goodwill, first received Tanakura ( Mutsu Province ) in 1611 with 20,000 koku, then he got Yanagawa back in 1620 with an income of 119,000 koku. The Tachibana resided there until the Meiji restoration . Then the head of the house was raised to the rank of count .

A secondary branch, which was derived from Naotsugu ( 直 次 , 1572-1617), a brother of Muneshige, resided from 1621 first in Miike ( Chikugo province ), then from 1805 to 1868 in Shimotedo (Mutsu), where he had a permanent house ( jinya ) owned, with 10,000 koku. After 1868, the head of the house held the title Vice Count.
