Tadeusz Czeżowski
Tadeusz Czeżowski (born July 26, 1889 in Vienna , † March 28, 1981 in Toruń ) was a Polish philosopher and logician of the Lemberg-Warsaw School .
life and work
Czeżowski studied at the University of Lviv : Mathematics , with Józef Puzyna , Marcin Ernst and Wacław Sierpiński , physics with Ignacy Zakrzewski and Marian Smoluchowski and philosophy with Kazimierz Twardowski , Mścisław Wartenberg , Władysław Witwicki and Jan Łukasiewicz . In 1914 he received his doctorate and in 1920 he completed his habilitation there. From 1923 to 1939 he was a professor at the Stefan Batory University in Wilno and from 1945 to 1960 professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń ( Thorn ). In 1948 he became editor of the magazine Ruch Filozoficzny in Thorn , which appeared in Lemberg before the war.
