Tafsir al-Jalalain

Tafsīr al-Jalālain ( Arabic تفسير الجلالين, DMG tafsīr al-ǧalālain  ' Tafsīr of the two Jalāl') is a classic Sunni Koran interpretation . It was started by Jalāl ad-Dīn al-Mahalli (* 1389; † 1459 in Cairo ) and completed by his disciple as-Suyūtī (* 1445; † 1505 in Cairo).

The work title is derived from the identical honorary title of the author and his pupil; both were called Jalāl ad-Dīn : "splendor of religion". The tafsīr consists of only one volume and has become very popular. It has been translated into several languages so far, but is not available in German. The English translation is by Feras Hamza.
