Tah ( Arabic طاح, DMG Ṭāḥ ) is a small town in the north of Western Sahara and has 1255 inhabitants (2004). Like much of Western Sahara, Tah is currently occupied by Morocco .
history
The place formed the border post of the former colony of Spanish Sahara , today Western Sahara, to Morocco in the north. During the Green March in 1975, the Moroccan columns passed here. The Spanish units had previously evacuated the place. To commemorate this march there is a large monument erected by Morocco, dedicated to Hassan I and Hassan II , near Tah .
traffic
The road leads through the town along the coast of the Atlantic from Tarfaya in the north towards the capital of Western Sahara El Aaiun . In addition to a gas station and a motel, Tah now also has cafes and shops.
