Tahirou Guimba

Tahirou Guimba (* 1952 in Kourfeye Center ) is a Nigerian manager and politician .

Life

Tahirou Guimba was born in the Kourfeye Center village of Itchiguine. He holds a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées . Guimba is married and has ten children.

From 1976 to 1981 he worked as a senior executive for Bank BIAO Niger . From 1982 to 2004 he worked as a manager at the headquarters of the airline Air Afrique in Abidjan . As general manager, Guimba ran the airline Air Inter Niger and the transport company Société Nationale des Transports Nigériens (SNTN). He was also a board member of several public companies. He initiated the founding of the private airline Oasis Air , of which he became director general.

Tahirou Guimba was a party member of the National Development Society Movement (MNSD-Nassara) from 1991 to 2011 . He was elected mayor of his home parish, Kourfeye Center. In 2011 he founded the Democratic Movement for Development and Defense of Freedoms (MODDEL-Ma'aykata) with himself as party leader. Guimba ran for the party in the 2016 presidential election, finishing twelfth of fifteen candidates with 0.38% of the vote.
