Tahoua I is one of the two arrondissements of the city of Tahoua in Niger .

Tahoua I occupies the eastern half of the urban area. The arrondissement is divided into several districts as well as rural villages , hamlets and camps . The neighborhoods are Boyal Amaré, Ibiki, Kourfayawa I, Maboyan Amaré, Maréda, Nassarawa, Sabon Gari, Tougoulawa and Zoulanké.

The administrative unit Tahoua I was founded as a municipality ( commune urbaine ) in 2002 , when the city of Tahoua was converted into a community of two municipalities ( communauté urbaine ). In 2010, the two arrondissements emerged from the municipalities of Tahouas.

At the 2012 census, Tahoua I had 53,569 inhabitants who lived in 8,812 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 35,651 in 5675 households.
