Taikai Uemoto ( Japanese 上 本 大海 Uemoto Taikai ; born June 1, 1982 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Uemoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School . He signed his first contract in 2001 with the Júbilo Iwata . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champion in 2002 . In 2003 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . For the club he completed six first division games. In 2005 he moved to league competitor Ōita Trinita . In 2008 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 127 first division games. In 2010 he moved to league rivals Cerezo Osaka . For the club he completed 58 first division games. In 2012 he moved to league competitor Vegalta Sendai . In 2012 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club. For the club he completed 39 first division games. He then played for V-Varen Nagasaki and Kagoshima United FC . At the end of 2017 he ended his career as a football player.
