Taiping dao (Daoism)

The Taoist messianic movement Taiping dao ( Chinese  太平道 ) or Movement of Great Peace , founded by Zhang Jiao and his brothers Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang , is one of the first two known Daoist movements with the Five Bushels Rice Movement. She venerated the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) and Laozi, as well as the Taiping jing太平 經script , from which it takes its name. In the 170s and 180s, it spread rapidly from Hebei to other areas of central and eastern China. In 184, Zhang Jiao led the Yellow Turban Rebellion , which the Han crushed but hastened the fall of the Han dynasty . The acts of war lasted a total of over 20 years.
