Taishō-ku ( Japanese 大 正 区 ) is one of 24 boroughs ( ku ) in Osaka , Japan .

history

The municipality was created in 1932 from parts of Minato-ku .

Taishō Station on the Osaka Ring Line and the Nagahori-Tsurumi-Ryokuchi Line Subway are to the north of the borough. The rest of the area is covered by the city transport company's bus routes. Since the district is surrounded by rivers with few pedestrian bridges, the city has set up ferry services.
