Takahiro Shimada ( Japanese 島 田 貴 裕 , Shimada Takahiro ; born February 9, 1965 in Osaka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Shimada learned to play soccer on the school team at Naniwa High School and the university team at Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences . He signed his first contract with Matsushita Electric in 1987 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. In 1987/88 he was runner-up in Division 2 with the club and was promoted to Division 1. In 1990 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Matsushita Electric became Gamba Osaka . For the club he completed 174 first division games. At the end of 1997 he ended his career as a football player.
