Charles Schaublin

Charles Schäublin (born August 23, 1883 in Waldenburg , Basel-Landschaft , † March 28, 1958 in Bern ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and patron .

life and work

Schäublin grew up in Waldenburg as the son of a locksmith and in 1912 founded the precision engineering factory "Burri, Schäublin & Co" with the Burri brothers in Tramelan . Schäublin left the company in 1914 and founded a machine tool factory in Malleray in 1915 , which produced lathes and pliers for the watch industry.

With his brother-in-law he founded the company «Ch. Schaublin-Villeneuve ». From 1946 onwards, the continuously expanding company was called “Schäublin SA” and its headquarters were in Bévilard .

In Delsberg Schäublin 1924 took a further operation. He appeared as a patron in Delsberg and Waldenburg. So he donated two church windows for the Reformed Church of St. Peter in Waldenburg, which were made by Jacques Düblin .
