Takatsukasa Sukehiro

Takatsukasa Sukehiro ( Japanese 鷹 司 輔 熙 / 鷹 司 輔 煕 ; * December 5, 1807 in Kyōto ; † November 19, 1879 ) was a scion of the noble Takatsukasa family , descended from Konoe Iezane , who was considered one of the go-sekke worthy enough was to provide regents ( kampaku ) for the Japanese Tennō .

Sukehiro, the son of Takatsukasa Masamichi, was first chief steward for the Crown Prince, then Udaijin ("Chancellor on the right") in the first following rank . Like his father, he was placed under house arrest for his participation in the Ansei purge , but pardoned in 1862, and then he was the penultimate Kampaku from March 12, 1863 to January 31, 1864 in office for Kōmei . After 1868 he was director of Jimukyoku and dealt with the administration of Shinto affairs. Sukehiro was married to a daughter of Ichijō Tadayoshi . The son Sukemasa ( 輔政 ; * 1849) died young in 1867 in the office of Gon-Chūnagon .
