Take to the Skies is the first studio album by British post-hardcore band Enter Shikari . It was first released in the UK on March 25, 2007. In the first week of sales alone, 28,000 copies of the work were sold, so that it could reach number 4 on the official album charts of the United Kingdom . In addition, more than 250,000 copies have been sold worldwide to date. In the UK, it later earned Gold status for over 100,000 sales . The two songs Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour and Jonny Sniper were released as singles.
background
The album includes numerous demos, EPs and songs that were presented before the debut album was released. The song Sorry You're Not a Winner was already on the EP of the same name from 2003. This track was later re-released in 2006 along with the single OK, Time For Plan B. The third EP Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour was released two years earlier , from which both the single of the same name and Jonny Sniper are taken. The demo version of Mothership was also pre-released in 2006.
After the album was released in Europe , the band looked for a long time for a label that would bring Take to the Skies onto the market in North America . Eventually the album was released on Tiny Evil Records on October 30, 2007.
The background to the naming of the album tracks 1, 5, 9, 11, 13 and 17 is not clear. In some versions these are shown as "untitled"; For example, in the digital version, the first track is called "Stand Your Ground; This Is Ancient Land" and the other, named songs are called "Interlude".
In the iTunes designation, tracks 9 and 17 are given the names "Reprise 1" and "Reprise 2". Track 17 is sometimes referred to as "Closing".
