The Dachwig reservoir ( Dachwig reservoir) is located between Dachwig and Großfahner, northwest of Erfurt in Thuringia . The reservoir was built to irrigate agricultural land and served this purpose until 1990. Today it only has a nature conservation function as a resting and breeding place for water birds and songbirds. The river Jordan is dammed .

The dam is a homogeneous earth dam made of cohesive material. The water side is secured with gravel stones, the air side with lawn. The system has a combined extraction and overflow structure with an overflow funnel at the foot of the dam on the water side.
