Talthybios ( Greek  Ταλθύβιος ) is one of the better known heralds of Agamemnon .

In the Iliad , for example, Agamemnon instructs him to bring the doctor Machaon or, another time, a sheep as a sacrifice after the duel between Menelaus and Paris has been agreed. Together with another known herald of Agamemnon, Eurybates , he takes on behalf of Agamemnon Briseis the Achilles away.

Both Sparta and Aigion are said to have been a memorial site for Talthybios, where sacrifices were made to him.
