Tamás Erdélyi (born September 13, 1961 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian mathematician who mainly deals with polynomials and polynomial inequalities.

Erdelyi studied at the Lorand Eötvös University Budapest with a diploma in 1985, at the University of South Carolina and Ohio State University and received his doctorate in 1989 at the University of South Carolina with Paul Nevai (Inequalities for Generalized Polynomials). He was a post-doctoral student at Ohio State University, Dalhousie University, Simon Fraser University and the University of Copenhagen. From 1995 he was at Texas A&M University , where he is Professor of Mathematics.
