Tamás Molnár

Tamás Molnár (born August 2, 1975 in Szeged ) is a Hungarian water polo player who normally plays in the center position. Tamás Molnár is 1.95 m tall and his competition weight is 98 kg.

Tamás Molnár belongs to the generation of Hungarian water polo players who were able to build on the great successes of the 1950s from the 1990s. In 1998 he was voted Hungary's water polo player of the year.

Tamás Molnár has been a member of the Hungarian national water polo team since 1997. He was part of the team that won the European titles in 1997 and 1999 and finished second in the 1998 World Cup.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, the Hungarian team won with Tamás Molnár. In 2001 he finished third at the European Championship and in 2003 he won the world title. In Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games , he helped defend the 2000 gold medal. In 2005 he won silver at the World Cup. At the 2008 Olympic Games , the Hungarians won the final against the team from the United States. For Molnár it was the third Olympic victory in a row.
