The Mount Tamana to Trinidad with 307 meters the highest elevation of Central Range , in the middle of Trinidad.
There is an extensive bat cave on the way to the top of the mountain . Trinidad has the largest bat population on earth in terms of area. Thousands of bats swarm in the evening twilight from a kind of vent that represents the exit of the underground cave. They hunt insects at night and look for ripe fruits.
From the summit plateau you have a clear view of the 1000 m high northern mountain range Northern Range . Some areas of the mountain are cultivated with citrus, banana, papaya and cocoa plantations. There are also nutmeg, star fruit and many other trees.
