Tamara Gorman (born February 22, 1996 in Rapid City ) is an American triathlete , junior world champion (2013) and reigning U23 world champion (2017).

Career

In 2012 Tamara Gorman was third in the World Junior Triathlon Championships. A year later in September 2013 in London, she became Junior World Champion.

In August 2013 and again in 2014 she became National Junior Champion on the triathlon sprint distance (2 laps of 325 m swimming, 4 km cycling and 1.5 km running). In 2015 she became national vice-champion.

She paused for a year in the 2016 season. She is trained by Jenny Weber

U23 world champion triathlon 2017

In September 2017, the then 21-year-old became the U23 world champion in the Netherlands.

Tamara Gorman studies at the University of Minnesota and now lives in Minneapolis .
