Tamela J. Mann (born June 9, 1966 in Fort Worth , Texas ) is an American actress and gospel singer.
Life
Tamela Mann's father was a solo singer in the church choir, she grew up with church singing and was active as a choir member and solo singer herself. In the 1990s she was a member of the gospel group Kirk Franklin & the Family .
As an actress she was first on stage, later also in film and television. She is married to actor David Mann, with whom she also played in many roles.
In the mid-2000s she intensified her musical activities again and in 2005 she released her first album Gotta Keep Movin ' . It immediately reached number 3 in the gospel charts. Her second studio album, The Master Plan , was released in 2009. It also integrated R&B elements and made it into the top 100 of the official sales charts and number 2 on the gospel charts .
