Masaru Tanaka
Masaru Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 賢 , Tanaka Masaru ; * 1946 in Niigata , Japan ) is a Japanese composer and music teacher .
He studied at the Tokyo College of Music and at the University of Arts in Berlin . After that he was a teacher at the music school in Berlin-Reinickendorf for a while . He later became a lecturer at Tokyo Kasei University and Tokyo Kasei Junior College . He also teaches solfege at Ferris University - College of Music in Yokohama .
He has received awards and prizes in Germany and abroad for his compositions, for example the 23rd Composition Prize of the City of Stuttgart in 1978 and a prize at the Gaudeamus International Composition Competition.
