Tanda is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
The city is part of the Rampur district . Tanda has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 24 wards . It had a total of 48,059 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 25,160 were men and 22,899 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of over 81%, followed by Muslims with over 17%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 57.46% and thus well below the national average.
