Suzanne Tannella Boni (born 1954 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast ) is an Ivorian poet and writer .

Life

Tanella Boni studied in Toulouse and at the Sorbonne (Paris IV) and graduated with a doctorate in philosophy . She then went back to Abidjan and taught at the Université de Cocody . She had to leave the country in 2009 and has lived in Paris ever since . As an author, she writes poetry , short stories , novels and children's books and works as a literary critic .

From 1991 to 1997 she was chairman of the Ivory Coast Writers' Union and until 2002 organized the Festival international de poésie d'Abidjan . In 2005 she received the award named after Ahmadou Kourouma for her novel Matins de couvre-feu .

2019 it was included in the anthology New Daughters of Africa by Margaret Busby added.
