The Taniwha Cove is an icy and U -shaped side bay of Couzens Bay at the Shackleton Coast in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It is located off the northeast end of the Churchill Mountains . Your entrance is limited to the east by Senia Point , and Mount Tadpole rises on the west bank .
Participants in a campaign carried out from 1960 to 1961 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named them. It is named after the Maori name for a mythological monster .
