Tanush Thopia I.
Tanush Thopia I. (also Tanussio Thopia ; † after 1338) was an Albanian nobleman and became a feudal lord of the lands between the rivers Mat and Shkumbin . From around 1328 until his death, he ruled over the region of Mat , whose ownership as a county had been confirmed to him in a document by King Robert of Naples in 1338 .
On behalf of the Dukes of Durazzo from Anjou , Tanush defended the principality of Albania , which had escaped the conquest of the Serbian King Stefan Uroš IV Dušan .
Heir to Tanush was Andreas Thopia - it is unclear whether this was his son or brother.
