Taphios

Taphios ( Greek  Τάφιος ) is in Greek mythology a son of Poseidon and Hippothoe , daughter of Mestor .

As the leader of the Taphier or Teleboer, Taphios fought against King Electryon of Mycenae , whose herd of cattle had been stolen by Pterelaos . Eight of Elektryon's nine sons were killed. The Theban general Amphitryon finally defeated Pterelaus and conquered the Taphic Islands.
