The Tar ( Kyrgyz Тар ) is the left headwaters of the Kara-Daryja ( Qoradaryo ) in the Osh region in southwest Kyrgyzstan ( Central Asia ).
The Tar arises at the confluence of the Oy-Tal and Kara-Bel rivers . It initially flows to the northwest, later to the west-northwest through the foothills between the Alai Mountains in the south and the Ferghanagebirge in the north. The river takes in the Kulun , outflow of the Kulun Lake , from the right. In the lower reaches, the place is Say on the Left Bank. Finally it unites with the Karakuldscha, which runs further north, to form Kara-Daryja. The Tar has a length including the headwaters Kegart , Alaykuu and Oy-Tal of 192 km. It drains an area of 4420 km². The mean discharge is 45.4 m³ / s.
