Tarchon
Tarchon ( Latin , Etruscan Tarchun ; ancient Greek Τάρκων, Tárkōn ) was, according to ancient legends, the founder of several Etruscan cities.
Tarchon was the brother or son of Tyrrhenus . He had founded twelve cities, including Tarquinii ( Etruscan Tarchna ) and organized the Etruscan League of Twelve Cities .
He plowed the day , a grandson of Jupiter , out of the earth near Tarquinii . This taught Tarchon parts of the "Etruscan doctrine" ( Etrusca disciplina ), a doctrine about religious practices.
The name Tarchon is associated with the Hittite weather god Tarḫunna .
