Tariff regulations

Tariff regulations are a set of rules in public passenger transport in which the fare (transport fees) and conditions of use of the individual tickets are specified. They apply to the transport of people as well as to the transport of things and animals on the lines of the transport companies e.g. B. in local public transport .

In detail, the following regulations of the tariff system are presented in tariff regulations :

  • the tariff structure (e.g. the division into tariff areas or zones)
  • the type of tickets (the range of tickets)
  • Individual provisions for the individual types of tickets (description of the types of tickets offered)
  • special provisions u. a. for the transport of severely disabled people or police officers in uniform.

The tariff regulations are supplemented by separate conditions of carriage . Both are provided by either the transport company or the mode of transport , e.g. B. the transport association , set and apply side by side. Conditions of carriage can also z. B. uniformly regulated nationwide and taken over individually by the regional companies or associations (this is currently the case in North Rhine-Westphalia ).
