Tashiro (indicator)

Tashiro is a mixed indicator ( pH value : 4.4 to 6.2) made of methylene blue and methyl red . Ethanol is used as the solvent .
Color indication
- in acid: violet
- Changeover point (pH = 5.2): gray
- in the basic: green
Although in theory the transition point should be recognizable as colorless / gray, as with all indicators it is difficult in practice to titrate to the exact value of the transition point .
