Tasman Rip is a strait in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It separates Eadie Island in the north from O'Brien Island in the south. A special feature is occurring here Rip current with numerous whirlpools .
Scientists from the UK Joint Services Expedition took them in January 1977 in sea kayaks from the Tasman company , which gave the strait its name.
