Tatiana Nikolaevna Ovechkina

Tatyana Ovechkina ( Russian Татьяна Николаевна Овечкина , born Kabaeva ( Russian Кабаева ) * 19th March 1950 in Moscow ) is a former Soviet basketball player .

Ovechkina is of Mordovian origin. At the age of 16 she became a member of the Dynamo Moscow team , three years later she was appointed captain of the team. With the Soviet national basketball team won both Owetsckina 1976 in Montreal and 1980 in Moscow the Olympic gold medal. In addition, there is a world title in 1975 and six European championship titles (1970, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1980). During her entire international career, she never lost an official game at the Olympic Games, World or European Championships. Owetschkina wore jersey number "8".

Ovechkina is married to the former professional footballer Mikhail Ovetschkin . The couple had three sons: Sergei († 1995), Michail and Alexander , who won the world championship title with the Russian national ice hockey team in 2008 .
