Tatul Krpejan ( Armenian Թաթուլ Կրպեյան ) (born April 21, 1965 in Areg near Talin , Armenian SSR ; † April 30, 1991 ) was during the Nagorno-Karabakh War from September 1990 to April 1991 in the area of the large villages of Beaschen and Martunaschen of the Khanlar settlement area Commander of the Armenian units.

Life

He studied at Talin's Technical School and graduated with honors. After military service in the Soviet Army, he studied at the Yerevan State University in the Faculty of History. Krpejan was also a member of the Organization for the Reunification of the Countries of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia , which was called "Unification".

In September 1990 Krpejan went to Nagorno-Karabakh, where the situation got worse and worse.

With his self-formed group, he carried out the confrontation of Getaschen (Getaschen-Martunaschen) against the Azerbaijani army from September 1990 to April 1991 . During Operation "Kreis" he fell on April 30, 1991. On September 20, 1996, he was posthumously awarded the rank of national hero. Tatul was buried in his home region of Areg, which was later named "Tatul" in his honor. There is also a monument in the village designed by the architect Tariel Hakobjan.

The "Circle" operation

In the spring of 1991, Nagorno-Karabakh was the main stage of the partisan war, during which the Armenian soldiers managed to go to the regions settled by the Armenians. Tatul and his friends drove to Taschen and Martunaschen. On April 10, 1991, the government made a decision to attack these villages.

The "Memorial for Human Rights" center was founded in Moscow to shed light on these events. On April 30, 1991, the 4th Azerbaijani Army, and later the Azerbaijani OMON, attacked the village of Getaschen not far from the district center of Shahumyan . The OMONers plundered Armenian villages and at the same time the residents were harassed. The majority of those murdered were between the ages of 18 and 19.

The recollections of one of my contemporaries: “ I remember Tatul very well. He was like a Sasun Fidayi: broad-shouldered, with curly hair, with a thick beard. Besides the army command, he was also a good teacher in two of the schools there. His destiny was more than just fighting ”.

Maschkov's captivity death

A reminder from Gyurdjinyan: “ Tatul decided to go forward with Hratsch. At the same time, he also took Maschkov into captivity to be sure that the army was leaving the village. Although Tatul said that no one was allowed to follow him, Arthur Krpeyan, who was considered his helper, went with him anyway to help in case of danger. During this time, Mashkov told his army not to shoot and always move forward. On the way they met the tanks and army of OMON. Right here Maschkov managed to fall to one side and so he left the Tatul helpless. Tatul and Arthur and Hratsch, who came to his rescue, were killed at once. "

Conscious death is immortality

Tatul often repeated that Taschen was only conquered over his corpse. When Tatul was in Yerevan for the last time , during the conversation he told Norayr Muschexyan: "I know that I will no longer return to Yerevan, but that I will be brought ..."

Tatul's role in art

The following songs and films have been produced in honor of Tatul Krpeyan: Rafael Sahakyan "Artsvapascht Erkir" (literally "Eagle-idolized Land" (fact-artistic novel)), "Karotic Xelare" (literally "Crazy about longing" (film)), as well as "Leran landjin" (literally "On the foreland of the mountain" (Author: Nersik Ispiryan)), and "Mayramut Itschav" (literally "Sunset" (Author: Aschugh Gevorg)).
