Pigeon tower in Assier

The pigeon tower (French colombier or pigeonnier ) of the castle in Assier , a French commune in the Lot department in the Occitania region , was built in 1537. The pigeon tower has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 2005 .

The round pigeon tower made of quarry stone with its 2500 nesting holes is the largest in the Quercy . It is crowned by a lantern .
