Under the name Taunus BKK existed until 30 September 2009, a company health insurance fund based in Aarbergen .
history
The health insurance was founded in 1880 as the Michelbacher Hütte company health insurance . When it was opened to non-company members in 2000, the name “TAUNUS BKK” was introduced. In the period that followed, Taunus BKK grew mainly through takeovers: on October 1, 2003 with Forum BKK , on January 1, 2004 with BKK Hamburg-Mannheimer and on April 1, 2004 with BKK Braunschweig . In 2007, BKK Hoechst ( Frankfurt-Höchst ), BKK Vita Dyckerhoff & Partner ( Kassel , Wiesbaden ) and Sancura BKK ( Wetzlar ) were incorporated.
As a result of the incorporation into the BKK Gesundheit with its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main on October 1, 2009, the name Taunus BKK was given up.
precedent
Due to a supreme court decision of the Federal Social Court in a lawsuit against the Taunus BKK, since 2004 all insured persons in the statutory health insurance have the right to extraordinary termination in the event of a premium increase, even if this is done in the context of a merger with other health insurance companies.
