Taupiri Island is a small, uninhabited island off the Aupōuri Peninsula in the Northland region on the North Island of New Zealand . It is located immediately south of the sandy headland leading to Cape Maria van Diemen and is only separated from it by a shallow passage a few meters wide. The island is about 290 m long and 170 m wide. The island reaches its highest point in the south at 69 m.
